Coffee, Croissants, and Yarn: When the Faroe Islands Came to Alfaz del Pi
A Massive Visit from the North
We are used to hosting knitting enthusiasts here at Casa de Lana, but recently, we experienced something truly special. Over two days—Saturday, October 3rd, and Monday, October 5th—we had the immense pleasure of welcoming a group of around 70 lovely ladies all the way from the Faroe Islands!
They were staying at the Albir Garden hotel for a couple of weeks and decided to take a trip to our yarn shop in Alfaz del Pi for a "strikketreff" (knitting meetup) and some serious shopping. Let me tell you, having such a large, enthusiastic group in the shop was an absolute delight.
Waffles, Croissants, and Quality Yarn
To make sure everyone felt right at home, we set up a proper spread with good drinks, traditional Norwegian waffles, and flaky croissants. It felt like a true "kaffeprat"—a cozy coffee chat on a grand scale.

It is always so inspiring to meet groups who travel together, sharing their love for handcrafts. These ladies were incredibly experienced knitters, and the level of expertise in the room was impressive. We spent the time sharing stories, exchanging tips, and just enjoying the company of people who truly understand the joy of creating something with their own hands.
Exploring Spanish and Portuguese Wools
While they are used to the wool from their own rugged islands, the Faroese ladies were very curious about our selection. They showed a lot of interest in our high-quality Spanish and Portuguese yarns.

It was so much fun helping them navigate our shelves, finding the perfect skeins for their next projects. We love being able to offer something a little different, and seeing their excitement over our local yarns was fantastic. It was a true pleasure to sell good yarn to these ladies and give them a cozy time together in our shop.
