Welcome to our newly renovated webshop and blog
Why we’ve been staying inside while the sun shines on the Costa Blanca
If you’ve been wondering why we’ve been a little extra thirsty for coffee lately, it’s because we’ve been working around the clock behind the scenes. There have been late nights, way too little sunlight, and a whole lot of trial and error to get the tech to play nice. But we’ve finally made it!
We’ve given the Casa de Lana webshop a proper makeover. And let’s be honest: It wasn’t just the appearance that needed a little lift, we simply had to clean up the machinery too.
More than just a pretty face
We’ve added several new features that we hope will make your shopping experience much smoother. Here are some of the most important changes:
-
The magic Yarn Kit Selector: Now you can easily buy the knitting pattern, the exact number of yarn skeins for your size, and choose the colors you want, all in one place. You can also toss in the right knitting needles you need to finish the project with just a couple of clicks.
-
Colors that actually match: Before, it was unfortunately a bit too easy to choose the wrong color when you were sitting and admiring the yarn pictures (we are so sorry about that!). Now we've fixed it so that when you click on a picture of a skein, that specific color and that color name automatically drops into your shopping cart.
-
Better filtering: It has become much easier to sort and filter our products, so you can find exactly that yarn from Drops, Katia, or Rosas Crafts you are looking for much faster.
-
Finally mobile-friendly: We just have to raise our hands and admit that we haven’t quite kept up with the times here. Our old pages simply weren't good enough on mobile phones. That is fixed now!
Hola, Hello and Hei!
We have international customers, and we want everyone to feel at home with us. Therefore, the shop has received a massive upgrade on the language front. It’s not 100% perfect yet, but we now function pretty well in Norwegian, Spanish, and English.
When it comes to patterns, we can also offer these in several European languages. But we have to be honest here: This is incredibly time-consuming work. We refuse to just feed everything into an automatic translator. If we do that, the patterns quickly become either very "festive" and incomprehensible for you, or we just look like happy amateurs. Therefore, we are taking this step by step.
Welcome to "Life at Casa de Lana"
As you might have noticed, you are currently reading our brand-new blog! Right now, it might not be jam-packed with content, but it’s coming.
In here, we will share our everyday life with you. We want to show off our cozy community from the knitting cafes, take you on roadtrips to knitting festivals, and keep you updated on courses, classes, and workshops we arrange.
Building a webshop is an ongoing process that might never completely end, but the foundation is solid now, and the pages are functional and ready to use. We hope you like them as much as we do!
What now?
Grab a cup of coffee and click around the new shop. Check out our latest knitting patterns, and feel free to sign up for our newsletter (at the very bottom of the page) so you don't miss out on future blog posts, yarn news, and invitations to our meetups!
